This game is really really good, but its also really frustrating cause of niche character specific interactions. I hope more people play it really sad that I got into it so late

Not bad! Honestly this might be the Easiest fighting game to pick up next to smash tbh You seem to have a grasps on things just need some faster execution 🤷🤷 , do arcade mode alot the cpus learn your combos for block strings, and do hella punish damage I prefer to play in the hyperbolic time chamber(7)

My congrats and condolences to you for pushing through this tough game! Dragon Ball fighterz is a deep and rewarding game, but its strengths are not the first thing people notice about it. Most people are put off by the lack of learning tools, mandatory combo labbing, heavy emphasis on zoning and blocking, and confusing and visually unclear knowledge checks(trying to figure out what's a command grab and what's a cross-up in this game is a nightmare.) I only got past all of that because I had my friend, who was much better than me, there to coach me. Given all of that, I think it's awesome that you gave this game such a fair shot and really took the time to try and understand it. Wonderful journey. (To anyone in these comments that couldn't get into it- don't feel too bad, it's not a taste for everyone, hell, it's not even my favorite. If you do feel like getting into it again, definitely apply the universal combo and the other tricks mentioned in this video.)

24:50 the game mechanic is so stupid. How is a 80 hit combo doing less damage than a 10 hit combo. Its one of the main reason i stayed far away from this game

I know this from skullgirls and it probably applies to dbfz and other fighting games but when your cornered never tech towards your opponent because that just gives them an option to cross you up, almost always neutral tech or tech back into the corner

Fun watch! I think you're a very observant player because you're actually able to identify the strategies and mechanics that sets team games apart from normal fighters. Stuff like the danger from coming down from really high on the screen, using assists, etc. While it's not for everyone, for my money team games are the most fun, most creative, and most entertaining games to watch. They demand the most out of a player to really master, and as volatile as they can be, it really sets apart good players from the truly great.

Dbz might me intimidating at first but once you get your bnbs down it's really not that hard overall

Amazing video, really shows just how lost any new player feels when encountering someone who mildly knows what they're doing, even basic fundementals won't save you in FighterZ. DBFZ was my first 2D fighter, I have fond memories of getting somewhat competent, then I jumped to GGST, BBCF and now Granblue Versus and I wasn't able to get back to the game ever since, wayyyy too much going on, any character has BS, just not my kinda game anymore lmao.

I just couldn;t get into Fighterz. I am a big dragonball fan but the auto tracking combos and stuff like that just felt weird. It reminds me of like the tekken or SF6 button that just gives you free auto combos. Or the Pulse mode in 2xko. Then you have the weird healing stuff constantly happening. I wont act like strive health bar is better because its not but fighterz is weird. If you didn't know in strive 50% health is more like 70% health (depending on the character) because of the guts system. Its weird and theres a lot of math that goes into it but it feels good. So far, aside from melee, Strive has been my favorite. Oh also them inventing a character (android 21) for Fighterz is weird to me. Had they added her to the manga or something first this wouldnt bug me but nah...
